# Antifouling paints and operational parameters

Hi @Captain_Tim !

According to antifouling paint experts, the following operational parameters have the greatest impact on the polishing rate of antifoulings and have to be considered when ordering antifouling paints:

- Sea water temperature
- Speed
- Voyage factor (vessel’s activity)

It would be prudent to analyze the vessel’s historical operational parameters in collaboration with the antifouling paint suppliers in order to determine a probable operational profile and customize the specification of the antifouling paints.
