Fuel used for cargo cooling or heating during EU voyage

Hello,
During IMO DCS reporting, we disclose the fuel consumption for cargo heating or cooling. The fuel used for cargo cooling/heating is deducted from the annual fuel consumption while calculating the “Attained Annual Operational CII.”

When we submit the EU MRV report, is the fuel used for cargo cooling/heating deducted from the total fuel consumption during EU voyages?

Thanks.

Hello @Mhaque ,

The short reply is no.

In IMO DCS, all fuel consumed is reported. When calculating CII, there are several corrections, not only for cargo heating but also for other cargo related operations that require fuel consumption and a few more.
In EU MRV, also all fuel consumed is reported but only for voyages to/from EU ports. No similar deduction is applicable in the EU MRV regulation as of now, i.e. the EUAs to be surrendered will be calculated basis the total amount of fuel consumed in such voyages. Some exceptions applied in EU MRV are related to the nature of the port call.
